The success of a club does
not solely depend on the hard work of the committee members,
but also involves the active participation of its members.
Before any club activities commenced in the academic year,
the first objective of a club was to recruit members.
On one hand, the recruitment week aimed at providing students
with details as well as latest information on the clubs
of the St. Joseph's College. On the other hand, it also
provided a chance for the students to participate in clubs
of their choice. The recruitment week began on 9 October
2001 and last for 4 days. This function was held in the
New Hall, where over 30 clubs set up their stalls to promote
their clubs and recruit members.
Many committees tried to make use of their experience
gained in the previous years. They demonstrated their
art talents in the decoration of the display boards. Moreover,
the clubs committees showed their persuasive skills in
the recruitment of members by drawing their attention
to the club's function and offers. For the students, they
were also filled with enthusiasm and the New Hall was
packed with zealots to join the clubs during every lunchtime
and after school. Although there were no general restrictions
on the number of clubs a student could joined, our fellow
Josephians were able to select the clubs sensibly and
has joined those which suited their interests.
Under such an organized and centralized environment in
recruiting members, many clubs had great increase in their
number of members. The recruitment week had once again
demonstrated its success and popularity.
