The morning session started with heats at
about nine o'clock. Our well-trained swimmers showed their
leading talents and managed to obtain good results. After
a series of heats, our swimmers were able to keep in line
with top teams like La Salle College and Diocesan Boys' School.
Our cheering team members showed their impressive
support by crying loudly the slogans: "SJC born to swim,
SJC born to conquer, born to win!". It was totally different
from the other cheering teams who were over excited and lacked
consistency.
After the lunch break, the finals began.
"SJC best of best, SJC beat the rest". Our swimmers
were highly encouraged and started to perform at their best
in the afternoon events. They realized that points were to
be calculated for distinguishing the overall champions, so
they tried their very best. "Saint Joe, Saint Joe"
our flags were fluttering in the air as our team continuously
to break 5 records.
Their performances were so outstanding that
all the Josephians were so excited. Our school rally was then
heard at the pool. "Forward nor flinch nor fear"
was the statement that reminded us of the hard strive, leading
us till the end of the competitions. Later on we joined forces
with the cheering team of our brother school, La Salle College.
So, louder slogans such as "SJC, LSC" shocked everyone's
heart.
The climax of the day came when the boy's
relay began. Relays not only require swimmers' talents, but
also their co-operation. The cheering team members showed
their greatest enthusiasm and strongest support. This year,
our A grade team achieved the champion. Besides, we captured
the overall first runner-up of the competition.
Words of thanks should be given to
our principal, Brother Thomas, Mr. W.K. Wu, Mr. Lawrence Tsui,
Mr. W.K. Cheung ,the cheering team members and the Student
Union. They have shown their great support. Let's hope that
we can achieve a better results next year.
